12.11.6.4 non que = not that (with subjonctif)
  Non qu' il soit trop bête pour comprendre, il est tout simplement trop paresseux.
    It's not that he is too stupid, he is only too lazy.

12.11.6.5 quoique = although (with subjonctif)
  Quoiqu' on ait fait des progrès, on ne peut pas dire que tous les problèmes soient résolus.
    Although some progress was made, I cannot say that all problems were solved.
